I agree with you because it means a lot to them. They are fighting to get THEIR OWN land back! It belongs to them and if they didn't really want it or it didn't really mean much to them, they wouldn't fight back. The war would be over and they wouldn't have it. However the Israelis DO want it and they ARE fighting to get it back. That means that they would do anything for the country and to help it. If they lost I don't think that the Palestinians would do much for it. I think that they only want the land for them and not for the people of Jerusalem. The Israelis are fighting for everyone, not just themselves.

On the yellow claims sheet is says that Palestinians say, "Jewish claim to the land is based only on religion. Saying God gave them the land does not provide good reason for Muslims." That doesn't make sense to me because one of their other claims was, "Palestine is a holy place for Muslims as well. Throughout their history this land has been important to the Muslim faith. Especially the city of Jerusalem." They are going against what they said before because they claimed religion should have nothing to do with it. If that is true then they should not and would not be able to say that it is important to their faith.

I agree with you. Just because they left doesn't mean it isn't theirs anymore. They were forced to leave so it wasn't even a choice of theirs. Some people have been saying that they shouldn't have the land because they left. That doesn't make any sense because they were forced out. If they would have just abandoned it, it might change my thinking a little. It doesn't mean that I would support the other side but I am just saying that it would make a little bit of a difference.

I think that the Israelis should have the land because because they were given it. The United Nations gave them the land, therefore the land shouldn't even be up for grabs. They own it and they shouldn't have to fight for it. It is just like if you were given a gift and your sibling wanted it. She used it for a little bit and you went to go look at your other gifts. Does that mean that the gift is now your siblings? No! it means that she used it but overall it is still yours. It was given to you and unless you give it away it will always be yours. It is the same with the land. It was given to the Israelis and unless they give it away it will always be theirs.
